Our school was built in 1971 and it was the third lyceum in Limassol. It was named after the district which is called Agios Ioannis (Saint John) , because of the church near by. After the tragic events of the Turkish invasion of 1974 and the displace of thousands of people in Limassol, the school was divided into two sections because of the high amount of students. The first part were the students that were attending school in the morning time and the second part in the night time. In addition, the school had the highest number of students in the whole country.
The Saint John’s High School is located in the city of Limassol, which is located south of Cyprus. The school is located in St. John’s region of Limassol, an area with residents of low income criteria. Limassol is a relatively large city in Cyprus with a population of about 200,000 inhabitants. We have many students of low income criteria. Through our efforts in high school trying to encourage these students and educate them to have a good academic career. We have been providing education to the students from the age of 15 to 18 for three years. Our school is a public organization and it is funded publicly. We have about 500 students from different backgrounds and 90 teachers approximately who are not working all the time in our school and four other staffs. As a school our main aim is to prepare our students to university to get a professional academic career. We teach a lot of languages as foreign language (English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and Turkish). As a secondary school we are more active and teach our students to be mindful about their environment, culture, social values, other cultures, and other social values. We always write articles to the local newspapers to disseminate the activities that are hold by our school. Also we publish our newspaper and our magazine in the school every year. More information’s for our school you will find in the webpage of the school: http://lyk-ag-ioannis-lem.schools.ac.cy/index.php
We have a young teacher group who are seeking for the students’ success at school. We take care about multiple intelligence and especially kinesthetic because of their physical qualities. We have some students who are having learning difficulties logically and lack of motivation. As it is seen that they could only learn by doing physical activities, our student advisor calls them as kinesthetic learners and encourages them and looks for the learning and teaching methods. Also every year in our school many groups of students under the coordination of teachers are doing a lot of work by themselves in research for many environmental and Science themes, like Global Warming, Biodiversity, Renewable energy sources, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Meteorology and many other science themes. Students are working themselves and the coordinator teachers encourage them and are trying to give those headlines so to be young researches and to learn how to learn.

Kaposvári Munkácsy Mihály Gimnázium’is going to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its foundation in the 2017/2018 academic year. It is considered to be a prestigious school in the county carrying out high quality educational work. At present 813 students attend the school in 27 classes. We base the offer of our trainings on the needs of the labor market, economy and our partners. Thus, in addition to overall talent training we announce training specialized in English, a Hungarian-English bilingual class, a six-grade-class, a class specialized in science and another one with drama and communication specialization year by year. The main elements of our Program of Education are expressed in the spirit of complex talent management, which oblige us to develop our students’ skills, the application of their creativity and make them take part in relevant programs according to their talent (concerts, conferences, art camps, projects) during and outside the teaching lessons. In this spirit high-quality professional work is going on in the institution in the form of study groups, sport clubs, individual preparation for competition and self-study groups. All these are proved by a number of national and even international competition- and championship results. For students wishing to continue their studies we offer several advanced courses preparing them for the final exams , furthermore they have the chance to attend language exam courses in order to help their competetive learning. The language exam results of our students are outstanding in the region. One of the foundations of our school is working as the accredited language exam place of the international TELC language exam system, thereby helping our students absorb the expansion of their foreign language competences. Beyond the academic work we try to promote our students’ physical, mental and moral development, as well. Our school has been a regional and national centre of geographical talent management for over 30 years. It includes organising a national geography competition (Lóczy Lajos Országos Földrajzverseny; http://loczyverseny.sulinet.hu/), a geography-geology career day together with the University of Pécs and several several other programmes concerning the topic (photo exibitions, excursions, observing natural phenomena, completing projects). With the best contestants we have taken part in geography-geology field trips: we visited places of geological intetest in Austria, Slovakia, Montenegro, Albania, Coatia, Serbia, Romania. Colleagues have gained experience in organizing events on the regional and national scale. Apart from the geography competition we have taken part in a number of student exchange programmes (eg.
